Cobra Spotlight

The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Wrestling

  • This week’s matches:
    • None
  • Last week’s matches:
    • George Mason – PPD.
  • After a crazy week of winter weather, the Cobras dual at George Mason University was canceled. With no matches this week, the wrestlers will now prepare to take part in the 2014 NCAA Regional on Feb. 28 at Tiffin University.

Women’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Monday at 6:00 p.m. (A) – Catawba
    • Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. (H) - Wingate
    • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – Anderson – Make-A-Wish Night
  • Last week’s games:
    • Brevard (W) – 65-64
  • The Cobras picked up a important SAC victory over Brevard last week. This week the women will hit the court for three SAC games, including their final two home games of the regular season. Saturday’s game against Anderson will be Make-A-Wish Night. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. It will also be a “Blue Out”, all fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game.

Men’s Basketball

    • Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. (H) - Wingate
    • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (H) – Anderson – Make-A-Wish Night
  • Last week’s games:

Men’s Volleyball

    • Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Pfeiffer

    • Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (A) – Quincy @ Barton
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lees-McRae (L) – 3-1
  • The men’s volleyball team will hit the road this week for three matches. The Cobras will travel to Pfeiffer and then to Barton for a pair of matches against Barton and Quincy.

Baseball

  • This week’s games:
    • Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – Barton
    • Friday at 2:00 p.m. (H) – Mars Hill
    • Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (H) – Mars Hill (DH)
  • Last week’s games:
    • Limestone – 13-6 (W)
  • Coker had an impressive 13-6 win over former conference foe Limestone last week. This week the baseball team will play host to Barton on Tuesday and then take on Mars Hill in a three-game SAC series on Friday and Saturday.

Men’s & Women’s Tennis

    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – Anderson
  • Last week’s matches:

  • After being snowed out all last week, the Cobra men and women will play host to Anderson University in their first South Atlantic Conference matches of the season.

Men’s Golf

    • Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate – 4 of 16
  • The Coker men got the spring portion of their season off to a great start with a fourth place finish at the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate.

Softball

  • This week’s games:
    • Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (H) – UNC Pembroke (DH)
  • Last week’s games:
    • Columbia – 3-1 (L), 14-5 (L)
  • The softball team will play host to UNC Pembroke in a non-conference double-header this week.

Men’s Lacrosse

    • Monday at 3:00 p.m. (H) – Florida Tech
  • Last week’s games:
    • None
  • The Coker men’s lacrosse team will take on Florida Tech in their 2014 home opener. The game will be played at the soccer fields at Byerly Park. Andy Campos and John Bretton captured the first-ever SAC Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week awards last week.
