The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Men’s Soccer

  • This week’s matches:
    • None
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Lincoln Memorial (T) – 1-1 (4-2 PK)
  • The men’s soccer season came to an end last week with a loss to Lincoln Memorial in the quarterfinals of the Food Lion SAC Soccer Tournament. Daniel Jackson and Fernando Bedoya were named First Team All-Conference, while Tony Quiroz earned Second Team All-Conference honors and Jordan Snell was an Honorable Mention selection.   

Women’s Volleyball

  • This week’s matches:
    • Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (A)- Wingate
    • Friday at 7:00 p.m. (H)- Mars Hill
    • Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (H)- Tusculum
    • Saturday at 6:00 p.m. (H)- UNC Pembroke
  • Last week’s matches:
    • Brevard (L) – 3-0
    • Lenoir-Rhyne (L) – 3-0
  • This week the women’s volleyball team will close out a five-match road trip on Tuesday, and then play host to Mars Hill, Tusculum and UNC Pembroke in their final home matches of the season on Friday and Saturday.

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

  • This week’s meet:
    • None
  • Last week’s meet:
    • NCAA Southeast Regional – women – 30 of 31, men – 28 of 28
  • The Cobra cross country teams finished out their seasons at the NCAA Southeast Regional. Hannah Cook and Dylan Bates led the way for Coker with a pair of top 100 finishes.

Wrestling

  • This week’s matches:
    • Sunday at 9:00 a.m. (A) – NC State Open in Raleigh, N.C.    
  • Last week’s matches:
    • 33rd Annual Pembroke Classic
  • Charlie Huff became the first Cobra wrestler to win a tournament title last week by winning the 133-pound division at the Pembroke Classic. Zach Dicus placed fifth in the 174-pound division and Austin Akins placed sixth in the 285-pound division. This week the Cobras will travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take part in the NC State Open on Sunday.

Women’s Basketball

  • This week’s games:
    • Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (A) – UNC Pembroke 
  • Last week’s games:
    • Pfeiffer (W) – 71-57
  • The Coker women’s basketball team opened the season with an impressive 71-57 win over Pfeiffer. This week the Cobras will take on UNC Pembroke in a non-conference game on the road on Thursday.

Men’s Basketball

    • Friday at 3:30 p.m. (A) – Belmont Abbey – UNC Pembroke Invitational
    • Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Limestone – UNC Pembroke Invitational

  • This week the Cobra men’s basketball team kicks-off its season with a pair of games at the UNC Pembroke Invitational. Coker will take on two familiar foes in former conference opponents Belmont Abbey and Limestone.
