10th Anniversary of the Taste of Coker in DeLoach Center
The 10th Anniversary of the Taste of Coker will take place on Monday, Oct. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in Coker’s DeLoach Center. Tickets are $15 each, $25 for a couple or $40 for a family. The "Cobra Spotlights" is a weekly highlight of student-athletes at Coker College. Each week we take a look at different athletes from different sports and display some facets to get more familiar with them. Women’s Soccer
- This week’s matches:
- Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. (H) – Wingate
- Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (A) – Tusculum
- Last week’s matches:
- Mars Hill – (W) 4-0
- Last week the Cobras picked up their second straight SAC victory with a convincing 4-0 win over Mars Hill. This week the women will host Wingate on Wednesday and then hot the road to Tusculum on Sunday.
Men’s Soccer
- This week’s matches:
- Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (H) – Wingate
- Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (A) – Tusculum
- Last week’s matches:
- Barton – Cancelled
- Mars Hill – (W) 2-1 (OT)
- The Coker men picked up a 2-1 overtime win against Mars Hill last week thanks to a goal by Ian Fellenz. This week they welcome Wingate to town on Wednesday and then travel to Tusculum on Sunday.
Women’s Volleyball

- Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (A) - Converse
- Friday at 7:00 p.m. (A) – Anderson
- Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (A) – Newberry
- Last week’s matches:
- Barton – (L) 3-0
- Queens – (W) 3-1
- Catawba – (L) 3-0
- The Cobras picked up a 3-1 SAC victory over Queens last week. This week they will hit the road for a three-match road swing beginning at Converse on Tuesday. They will then travel to Anderson on Friday and to Newbery on Saturday.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country
- This week’s meet:
- Friday at Royal Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
- Last week’s meet:
- Great American XC Festival - Cancelled
- Last week, the Cobras had a week off due to heavy rainfall from Hurricane Joaquin. This week they will head to Charlotte, N.C. for the Royal Challenge.
Men’s Golf
- This week’s tournaments:
- Monday-Tuesday at North Georgia Invitational in Dahlonega, Ga.
- Last week’s tournaments:
- None
- The Coker men’s golf team will head to Dahlonega, Ga. for the North Georgia Invitational. The 54-hole event will take place at the Achasta Golf Club, where a total of 17 teams will tee it up at the 6,967-yard, par 72 Jack Nicklaus designed course.
