Coker Adds Perdue and Sewell to Athletics Media Relations Staff

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College has added Jon Perdue and Scott Sewell to their athletics media relations staff as assistant directors of athletics media relations.

"I'm thrilled to add Jon and Scott to our athletics media relations team," said Director of Athletics Media Relations, Gus Mohlhenrich. "Jon and Scott have prior experience in our office as interns and are going to hit the ground running. They both have a great work-ethic and a passion for Coker athletics."

Perdue has been a longtime staple around the Coker College athletics department, working as an athletics media relations intern since 2014. In his role as an intern, Perdue has served as a broadcaster, official scorer, public address announcer, writer, and scoreboard operator. He's assisted in some capacity with all 24 of Coker's athletic teams.

Perdue graduated cum laude from Coker College in 2018 with a B.A. in business administration. His final semester was spent at Bond University in Australia where he took several courses in their business school. In his spare time, Jon plays golf and is an avid baseball fan.

Sewell has spent the last two years working as an athletics media relations intern in the Coker College athletics department, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of Coker athletics. Sewell has served as a broadcaster, official statistician, public address announcer, and has written post-game recaps for Coker's athletic programs. Prior to his time at Coker, Sewell worked as a marketing manager for Taylor & Francis Group and also spent time as a college sales manager for Cambridge University Press.

Over the summer, Sewell created a weekly podcast dubbed The Quiver, which highlights Coker student-athletes and the Coker athletics department as a whole. Sewell is an avid runner, completing two marathons, and also enjoys listening to podcasts in his spare time.
