Cobra Club Hosts Inaugural Fundraising Dinner

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker Cobra Club hosted its inaugural fundraising dinner on Friday (Jan. 26) to benefit the Coker student-athletes and the athletic department as a whole.

In total, 137 tickets were sold for the dinner, with each one being redeemable for dinner for two.

John Ramsey walked away as the grand prize winner with a check for $4,000. Other winners, of varying amounts, included: Bob Kerzner, Kendrick Reed, Eldon Henderson, Debra Henderson, Courtney Tarbell, Tee Rowland, Nancy McGee, Rob Gardner, Peggy Smith, Felicia Simpson, Rondal Johnson, Adam Connolly, and Shelli Wilson. Collectively, $7,000 was given away in cash prizes.

"The first annual Cobra Club dinner was a success," stated Dr. Lynn Griffin, vice president for athletics and athletic facilities. "We could not have hosted the event if it were not for the work of Eldon and Debra Henderson, CW Grant, and Wylie Hodge. They were instrumental in getting this event off the ground."

The Coker College Athletic Department would like to thank all who attended and donated to further each team's endeavors. Your generous donations aid student-athletes in achieving athletic and academic success while at Coker.
