Coker Releases 2015-16 Fall Sports Schedules

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The 2015-16 Coker Cobra fall sports schedules have been released. The Cobra women’s soccer, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country teams will each kick-off their respective seasons during the first week of September.

The women’s soccer team will be the first team to take the field for the 2015-16 season. The Cobras will open the season on the road at Limestone College on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m., followed by another road contest against Greensboro College on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. The Cobras will play their first home match of the season on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. against Florida Tech. The women will also play host to six South Atlantic Conference matches, beginning with a three-match home stand Sept. 19-26 against Brevard (Sept. 19), Newberry (Sept. 23) and Catawba (Sept. 26).

The Coker men’s soccer team will also begin its 2015-16 campaign on the road, taking on local rival Francis Marion University on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. The Cobras will then hit the road to Chowan University for 5 p.m. match on Monday, Sept. 7. The Cobras first home match of the season will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. against Pfeiffer University. Like their female counterparts, the men will also host six SAC contests, beginning with a three-match home stand Sept. 19-26 versus Brevard (Sept. 19), Newberry (Sept. 23) and Catawba (Sept. 26).

The men’s and women’s cross country teams will hit the road on Saturday, Sept. 5 to beginning their seasons at the CIU Invitational in Columbia, S.C. The Cobras will travel to a total of seven meets this season, including the Wingate Bulldog Invitational (Sept. 26), the Royal Challenge (Oct. 9) and the SAC Championship (Oct. 24).

The Cobra women’s volleyball team will begin its season on the road as well. They will travel to Shaw University on Saturday, Sept. 5 for a tri-match. The Cobras will then return home for their 2015-16 home opening weekend on Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12. They will host Mars Hill on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by Tusculum on Saturday at 2 p.m. both matches will be conference matches. Highlighting the women’s volleyball schedule is a five-match home stand Oct. 23-31 against Brevard (Oct. 23), Lenoir-Rhyne (Oct. 24), Wingate (Oct. 27), Lincoln Memorial (Oct. 30) and Carson-Newman (Oct. 31).

The 2015-16 season marks Coker’s third season in the highly competitive South Atlantic Conference.
