Why did you choose Coker? I fell in love with the people and campus during my two-day interview and the weather is pretty awesome compared to New York.

What unique ability does your role give you? Working with college athletes keeps me young and on my toes. But knowing what I know now, I hate seeing my athletes making the same silly mistakes I did at their age, but that’s part of growing up.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Don’t stress the small stuff, as long as you have your health and loved ones all is good. And life works out the way it’s supposed to in the end.

What is the best thing about working at Coker? Besides the awesome weather and the new athletic facility; I love my colleagues.

What achievement are you most proud of? On the personal side being a mom of two beautiful children, and on the professional side taking my former college program to two National Final Four appearances.

What was your childhood ambition? I wanted to be a ballerina, then a park ranger, than a professional athlete and then a sports agent. I fell in love with coaching at 24 when I coached the varsity Riverdale Country school team.

What was your very first job? I worked at a make-up packaging plant on the sorting aisles.

What is your most prized possession? My king sized pillow top memory foam bed.

Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get it?  Allie my whole life, but during my college years “Big Gun” because my maiden last name was Gunther and I could hit the ball very hard on the volleyball court.

In your free time you like too… Play with my kids, go hiking, cook, exercise, socialize with friends and sleep whenever possible (which isn’t much with two toddlers).
