Cobra Spotlight- Jalynn Fortt & Cassandra Ordonez, Women's Soccer

The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. This week we take a look at Jalynn Fortt and Cassandra Ordonez, members of the women's soccer team.

Name: Jalynn Fortt

Sport: Soccer

Position: Defender

Hometown: Aurora, CO

Year: Sophomore

Major: Business administration

Why did you choose Coker? Coker’s campus size played a major role in me deciding to come here. I attended a small high school and wanted to continue my education in the same environment.

What is your best memory at Coker (athletic related)? My first collegiate goal. It was a header from an impossible angle, probably one of the best goals I have ever scored.

What is your best memory at Coker (non-athletic related)? Every memory I have made with my best friends on campus. There is way too many to choose just one, but I am sure Bailey Van Order was there.

Which athletic team would you play on at Coker other than your own? Tennis

Name: Cassandra Ordonez

Sport: Women’s soccer

Position: Defender/midfielder

Hometown: Palmetto, FL

Year: Freshman

Major: Biology with a pre-medical concentration, and a minor in sociology

Why did you choose Coker? I chose Coker for two reasons: the soccer team and the campus size. I wanted to play on a team that was fun to be around, and classes that make you feel more like a contributor than a number.

What is your best memory at Coker (athletic related)? My most memorable moment playing for the women’s soccer team would have to be our 1-0 victory against regionally ranked Newberry College.

What is your best memory at Coker (non-athletic related)? Homecoming was by far the most fun I have had on campus.

Which athletic team would you play on at Coker other than your own? I think I would play lacrosse. The sport seems like it would be really fun, and a lot of the girls on the team are pretty cool.
