The "Cobra Spotlight" is a weekly highlight of a student-athlete at Coker College. Each week we take a different athlete from a different sport and display some facets to get more familiar with them. This week we take a look at Ashlyn Burgett and Danielle Holcomb, members of the women's lacrosse team.

Major: Business administration
Why did you choose Coker? I chose Coker because I wanted to be a part of the inaugural season of women’s lacrosse. I also liked the close-knit community Coker provided, as well as the fact that my best friend (Danielle Holcomb) and I both signed to play lacrosse together.
What is your best memory at Coker (athletic related)? Winning our first conference game 19-11 against Wingate and surpassing people’s expectations of us.
What is your best memory at Coker (non-athletic related)? I definitely loved Bandfest because my best friends from back home were able to come up. Nothing like experiencing one of the more fun weekends at Coker and life in good ole Hartsville!
Which athletic team would you play on at Coker other than your own? Probably women’s soccer.
Favorite class: Chinese and/or Micro/Macro Economics
Favorite professor: I’ve been blessed with amazing professors each semester I’ve been at Coker; but I really enjoyed Professor Li and Professor Stevano!
Plans after graduation: Ideally, I would like to go to USC for graduate school in hopes of getting my IMBA/JD
Favorite movie: RENT
Favorite type of music: I can literally listen to anything and everything, but I’m basically in love with Lana Del Rey.
Favorite food: I can always eat a good burger, but I definitely love fried pickles from Shug’s (Shout out to Coach Kent for introducing me to them!)

Favorite TV show: One Tree Hill, Law & Order: SVU, and Scandal
Most prized possession: (Sadly) My iPhone.
What is something people may not know about you? I’m actually really weird…
Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get it? Ash. I guess that’s the typical nickname for anyone named Ashlyn/Ashley, Right? So, yeah.

Year: Sophomore

Why did you choose Coker? - I chose Coker because of the friendly atmosphere and the opportunity to play collegiate lacrosse at a school that wasn’t too far from home.
What is your best memory at Coker (athletic related)? - My best athletic memory probably would definitely be the adrenaline rush we got when going into overtime with Catawba.
What is your best memory at Coker (non-athletic related)? - Freshman year Bandfest, for sure.
Which athletic team would you play on at Coker other than your own? - Well I'd like to think I’d make a pretty good soccer keeper with my solid lefty kick.

Plans after graduation: Find a job and move to the city (with cute dogs)
